Welcome to ParentMaxxing Lab (“ParentMaxxing”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy, safety, and security of families and children who use our educational applications, homeschool curricula, and AI tutoring services. This Privacy Policy outlines our data handling practices in strict compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Apple App Store Review Guidelines (Guideline 5.1.1 & 5.1.2), and applicable global data privacy regulations.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal information necessary to deliver high-quality, personalized educational experiences:

  • Account & Parent Profile Information: Parent email address, authentication credentials, and optional billing information managed securely via Stripe or Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Child Profiles: First name or nickname, approximate age/grade level, and curriculum preferences. Parents control and maintain these profiles directly.
  • Educational Interaction Data: Learning milestones, completed lessons, quiz scores, and academic chat transcripts between the student and the AI tutor.

2. Ephemeral Voice Data & Audio Processing

Our interactive voice features (such as the Walkie-Talkie and Voice Companion) allow students to practice speaking and ask verbal questions:

  • Solely In-Flight Processing: Microphone audio recordings are streamed or uploaded securely over encrypted TLS connections solely for real-time speech-to-text transcription.
  • Zero Permanent Audio Storage: Audio data is processed ephemerally in volatile memory. Raw audio files and voice recordings are discarded immediately upon transcription completion and are never stored on persistent storage disks or user databases.
  • No Model Training on Voice: Audio recordings are never retained, sold, or used to train, retrain, or improve public artificial intelligence foundation models.

3. Third-Party Service Providers & AI Sub-processors

To provide robust speech recognition, natural language comprehension, and cloud infrastructure, ParentMaxxing partners with trusted enterprise service providers. We require all sub-processors to maintain enterprise data security standards and adhere to strict zero-data-retention training prohibitions:

  • Google Gemini / Google Cloud Platform: Utilized for secure, low-latency audio transcription (Speech-to-Text) and educational reasoning. Google Cloud enterprise APIs do not use customer data to train foundation models.
  • Fireworks AI: Utilized for hosting private, high-performance open-source educational LLM inference under zero-retention service agreements.
  • OpenAI: Utilized as a secondary AI inference and text-to-speech fallback provider under enterprise terms that prohibit training on API data.
  • Kokoro Neural TTS / Hugging Face Spaces: Utilized for stateless text-to-speech audio synthesis of educational lesson text without user identifiers or persistent storage.
  • Google Firebase: Utilized for secure user authentication (Firebase Auth) and encrypted cloud database storage (Cloud Firestore) hosted within high-security Google Cloud data centers.
  • PostHog: Utilized for anonymized product analytics on public web pages, and strictly disabled on child learning surfaces and native mobile applications.
  • Meta Pixel & Conversions API: Utilized strictly on public web marketing landing pages to measure adult parent acquisition campaigns, and completely disabled on child learning surfaces, dashboards, and native mobile applications.
  • Stripe & PayPal: Utilized for secure parent subscription billing (Stripe) and creator affiliate commission payouts (PayPal).
  • RevenueCat: Utilized to verify Apple App Store and Google Play Store subscription entitlements without storing payment credentials.
  • Resend: Utilized for transactional account notifications and parent onboarding email communications.
  • Sentry: Utilized for application crash and error diagnostics with personal data scrubbing enabled.

4. Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance

ParentMaxxing is designed specifically for children under the guidance and direct supervision of parents or legal guardians:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal contact information (such as phone numbers, physical addresses, or social media handles) from children.
  • We do not display third-party advertisements, behavioral tracking pixels, or targeted commercial marketing within the learning environment.
  • All child accounts are sub-accounts linked to a verified parent account. Adult verification barriers (Parent Gate challenges) protect administrative settings, in-app purchases, and account modifications.

5. Parental Consent, Control & Data Rights

Parents maintain absolute authority and control over their family's data at all times:

  • Review & Monitor: Parents can view complete conversation transcripts, curriculum progress, and milestone histories directly within the Parent Dashboard.
  • Export Data: Parents may request an export of their family's learning history and account records at any time.
  • Immediate Deletion: Parents can delete individual child profiles or invoke one-click complete account deletion in Account Settings. Deleting an account permanently purges all linked child profiles, chat histories, milestone achievements, companion flags, and authentication records from our active databases in accordance with COPPA and Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v).

6. Data Security & Encryption

We apply industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to secure your personal data. All network communications are encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit, and all stored data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. We regularly audit and review our security architecture against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
